Lights that change lives

Winter Wonderland is the largest annual fundraiser for TARC, Inc., Topeka’s dedicated organization serving children, families, and adults with developmental, intellectual, and related disabilities since 1954.

Every vehicle that drives through helps TARC continue providing essential services right here in our community, from early intervention to assistive technology, employment support, and more.

Magic on a Monday

Limited dates:
Dec 1, 8 & 15 · 6–8 PM

Reserve an entire Monday evening exclusively for your group. Closed to the public – perfect for company parties, organizations, or large family gatherings. Walk-through or drive-through option available.

Abilities Night

Date TBD · Stay tuned!

A dedicated evening designed with accessibility in mind for individuals with sensory sensitivities or special needs. Reduced traffic, extended time, and a welcoming environment for everyone to enjoy the magic.

Winter Wonderland 5K

Presented by Sunflower Games

Run or walk through the light displays! The annual Winter Wonderland 5K is a community favorite. Register through Sunflower Games — all proceeds support TARC programming.

Azura Member Night

The first 100 Azura Credit Union members drive through free. Show your member card at the gate.

December 4

Collector’s Ornament Night

Donate $10 or more and receive a retired Winter Wonderland lightbulb ornament, one per vehicle, while supplies last (first 50 vehicles).

December 5

Frito-Lay Snack Night

Frito-Lay will be handing out complimentary snack bags to guests as they drive through, while supplies last!

What does Winter Wonderland raise funds for?

Winter Wonderland is the largest fundraiser for TARC, Inc. in Topeka. Funds help TARC continue providing excellent service, support, and advocacy to 2,500 children, families, and adults with developmental, intellectual, and related disabilities in Topeka and Shawnee County.

Is it open every night, including holidays?

Yes! We are open on all major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. The only closures are the first three Mondays of December, reserved for private Magic on a Monday events.

What are the hours?

Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Friday and Saturday from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

Where is Winter Wonderland located?

Lake Shawnee Campground, 3435 SE East Edge Rd, Topeka, KS 66605, located off East Edge and SE Croco Road.

Can I walk through?

Winter Wonderland is a drive-thru only event. All guests must remain in their vehicles throughout the display route.

How much does it cost?

We ask for a suggested donation of $10 per vehicle, or $20 per large van or bus. All donations directly benefit TARC, Inc. There is no set admission fee. Every dollar is a donation that makes a real difference.

Is it open during rain or snow?

We do our best to stay open, but will close if road conditions are unsafe. Check this website, our Facebook page (TARC Winter Wonderland), or KSNT News for weather-related updates before heading out.
